Teeth can be damaged by decay or injury. Dental restorations repair the damage and restore the integrity and appearance of your smile. Our restorations include:
Fillings
Decay can break down the protective enamel on your teeth and cause cavities. Fillings are used to repair the damage and protect the tooth from further decay. We provide either amalgam or tooth-coloured fillings depending on your individual needs.
Crowns
If a tooth has been seriously damaged, it may require a crown to repair it. Dental crowns are made of a variety of materials, including metal, porcelain, or ceramic. The crown is designed to entirely cover the damaged tooth and blend in with your smile.
Inlays & Onlays
Sometimes a molar can’t be repaired with a filling, but it doesn’t require a crown. In these cases, we may recommend an inlay or an onlay. These restorations are created in a dental lab and placed over the tooth to be restored. Inlays are similar to large fillings. Onlays are used to cover and restore the cusps, the biting parts of the molar, so they resemble “partial” dental crowns.
Bridges
If a tooth is lost or it can’t be saved and must be removed, we may recommend using a bridge to restore it. The bridge consists of an artificial tooth that is bonded to the teeth on either side of the gap. Once it’s in place the bridge restores the appearance of your smile.
